View the list of available live, online courses below. Individual course enrollment can be completed through the MSU IT Training Course Registration form. Upon enrollment, a calendar invite will be sent out with the Zoom Meeting information. Please do not share the Zoom link with others. If needed, please direct others to the registration form.

  • Zoom Meetings - Getting Started
    Course Description: A one-hour long live virtual instructor led training session that will cover Zoom settings prior to a meeting in order to collaborate more effectively with others along with how to schedule, host, and manage Zoom meetings.

    Learning Outcome: At the end of this course you should know how to login to Zoom at MSU, understand some of the main settings you may want to change, both prior to and during meetings, know how to schedule, host, and manage various aspects of a Zoom Meeting.

  • Spartan (Microsoft) 365 Overview

    Description: Spartan 365 (a.k.a. Microsoft 365) is available to all MSU staff, students, and faculty. This course will introduce you to the suite of software that will help you store data, collaborate, and work efficiently.

    Learning Outcome: You will understand what applications are available to you through Spartan 365, how to access the platform, and why it should be your go-to resource for teaching, learning, and working at MSU.

  • Teams - Getting Started

    Description: Microsoft Teams is an instant messenger, storage system, and collaborative workspace all rolled into one. Users can chat and video conference while simultaneously working on the same project file, all hosted through the application.

    Microsoft Teams is the perfect tool to use when you have a group project. Learn how you can make the most of it.

    Learning Outcome: You’ll learn the layout of the application and how the different pieces of Teams work together as a whole. Understand how to chat with individuals, groups, and entire teams, and how to create, utilize, and organize “Channels.”

    Prepare and run meetings through Teams, including videoconferencing and setting up and using breakout rooms. Understand how Teams stores your work in the cloud and how it keeps your work synchronized with your workstation.

  • OneDrive - Getting Started

    Description: There are two essential functions of OneDrive: as a tool and as a storage location. OneDrive is the go-to application for storing your data and synchronizing it across your other Microsoft applications.

    OneDrive ensures that you have all your work saved, backed up, and available wherever and whenever you or your partners need to access it.

    Learning Outcome: You’ll learn how to use OneDrive as a tool and as a storage location. See how documents can be synchronized across Teams and SharePoint using OneDrive as a storage location. You'll learn how to store files in the cloud, how to keep them secure, and share them with others.

  • OneNote - Getting Started

    Description: Learn about the most versatile note-taking tool and how, whether you are a student, faculty, or staff member, OneNote is your go-to digital notebook.

    Users can use a stylus, traditional typing, or even speech-to-text to take notes, and multimedia content can be embedded into the pages.

    Take comprehensive notes without worrying about keeping up with your instructor, share notes in real time with your group, and embed related material directly into your notebook.

    Learning Outcome: After this course you'll understand how to organize OneNote with sections and pages and how to add a screen clipping to your notes. Learn to add a video to your notes and how to draw with your mouse. Understand the different type of notebooks, what they are used for, and how to share them.
